Three facilities for boat maintenance

New and improved operations are always welcome news for boat owners and nowhere is that more true than the bottom of the South Island which is enjoying an upgraded and affordably priced slipway in Oamaru. 

Oamaru Harbour Slipway

Located on Waterfront Road, this newly improved facility is owned and operated by Waitaki District Council and can accommodate boats up to 54ft in length and up to 20 tonnes. Customers say that its flexible slipway cradle is used by recreational boats, historic wooden boats, yachts, commercial fishing boats and charter vessels. Boat owners using the slipway can arrange and manage their own maintenance and repairers. 

Kopu Marine is going strong

Kopu Marine Servicing and Business Precinct - based just a few kilometres from Thames - was officially opened in mid 2024 with an 80m long commercial wharf and floating pontoon designed to boost capacity of the aquaculture industry, enable in water marine servicing, and provide facilities for boat maintenance is reporting a steady stream of productive projects including barge work, house removal, and maintenance for commercial fishing boats, smaller recreational boats, and multihulls. Option for multihulls in north Auckland

Quayside Boatyard in Warkworth’s 60T Roodberg Slipway Trailer is proving popular for multihulls in the Auckland region including those with a beam greater than 8.5m.
